Access to high quality performance data enables schools to evidence pupil progress, drive whole-school improvement and enable a school to be more transparent. The ability to use data effectively is of upmost importance in improving school performance. Demonstrating progress in achievement and attainment is a key feature of the new Ofsted inspection framework that was introduced in January 2012.
Data remains central to the new inspection process in the evaluation of school performance and progress. Confidently using raw pupil data for meaningful analysis and successful target setting is a key feature of ‘Outstanding’ schools under the new inspection framework.
Furthermore, in February 2013 Ofsted launched the School Data Dashboard, which complements the Ofsted school inspection report by providing an analysis of school performance over a three-year period. Sir Michael Wilshaw HMCI has stated it is vital that governors can access the right information to understand and challenge their school effectively.
At the Second Annual School Evaluation Conference: Using Data to Enhance Standards and School Improvement delegates will gain practical insights about how to use RAISEonline and raw school data to effectively raise pupil attainment and drive school improvement. Delegates will also learn how to engage parents, pupils, governors in data evaluation and evidencing improvement.
Delegates attending will include headteachers, deputy headteachers, data managers, school improvement officers, heads of research and statistics, school performance managers, directors of children and young people, and will be drawn from central government, local authorities, school improvement partners, charities and the private sector.
