Overview

Trauma informed practice is a strength-based person-centred approach being widely adopted across the public sector.  Trauma informed practice recognises the widespread impact of trauma on individuals, realises the way in which it can affect and inform behaviour, and responds to this knowledge by developing a trauma informed approach to service delivery and staff management.

Delegates will be offered a valuable opportunity to explore trauma and participate in thought provoking sessions to gain the necessary understanding, tools and strategies to improve organisational trauma awareness which enhances engagement and reduces the chance of retraumatisation.  It will also consider the impact of working with people who have experienced trauma and how to recognise and reduce vicarious trauma.
